D´Orsay Museum

Result of the transformation of a train station into a museum, its design allows to emphasize the great nave, using it as the main axis of the course. The objective of the museum is to show all the diversity of the artistic creation of the western world from 1848 to 1914. For that, resorts to the national collections coming from three places: the Louvre Museum for works of artists born since 1820 or who arose in the world of the art within the Second Republic; the Museum of Jeu de Paume -consecrated since 1947 to the impressionism- and finally, the National Museum of Modern Art that, when settling in 1976 in the Georges Pompidou Centre, only conserved works of artists been born after 1870.
