Natural
History Museum
This museum was one of the first public collections created
after the French Revolution, from private collections,
specially the one of François de Paule Latapie,
a disciple of Montesquieu and the one of the shipbuilder
Bernard Journu-Auber, whose collection reunited specimens
coming from all the parts of the world. The museum is
lodged, along with the Library, the Gallery of Pictures,
the Museum of the Antiques and the Drawing School in the
old Academy Hotel, near the Notre Dame church.
